Went out to OJ0 for about 60 hours of "warm-up" beforer the contest which was
nice but I only had 18 hours of sleep between Monday morning and Friday
afternoon when I came in off in off the reef. I got sick as a dog with major
cold (thanks to 22 hours of airline travel with a bunch of sickos) too but it
really didn't slow me down too much.
I grab 6 hours sleep then Ari OH1EH took me over to introduce the OH0Z
station to me at midnight Friday - 3 hours before the contest. I chocked
down some more cough medicine and jumped in the game. 48 hours later I was
seeing dinosaurs in the shack and stumbling around like a lunatic BUT I think
when memory returns I will be able to safely claim that I had a fantastic
time -- thanks to all you other folks who made the contest so active....even
from waaay up north. That place is definitely no WP2 or 8P for contesting.
But, it was big fun to experience what our OH friends suffer all of the time.
They tell me I set a new Scandinavian record too so maybe I have discovered
something in that Finland cold medicine!
