Approx. Score: 713,400 up 8% over last year
Radios: 3 each FT1000mp, TS930, TS950; four each Alpha 76, AL1200;
Stacked yagis 10-40m, Quad/4 SQ on 80, 4 Square on 160.
Our SSB totals were up 20% over last year, despite a general feeling that
activity was down. CW QSOs down by 13%, probably due to less EU activity
than last year, and relatively poor JA results, especially on the low bands
- no propagation at all. An 11% increase in total Qs was due to a great
team effort and several improvements in the antenna systems. Tony was
magnificent on 40m SSB during the daylight hours (>250Qs) with the sun high
in the sky. Mike rotatated through most of the five stations keeping our
CW rates up. Rich did his normal world-class SSB work, mostly on 10m.
Iron-man Bob, really KB'd on both modes on 20m, the only station to achieve
my excessive QSO targets! All the radios played without fail, had some
annoying power line noise - was able to quiet one pole with a garden hose
spraying from a tractor loader! We had some minor problems with the
computers/DVPs and NA 10 software, but by Sunday, everything was working,
thanks to K6AW. Steve will post the final numbers after massaging the
compiled logs. Club scores look great at this early hour in the reporting.
Congrats to the BoD and N6TV for their leadership in the world's best QSO
party. N6RO
