HG5T is the club call of foreign radio amateurs in Hungary. It works much
better than HA/N9NC! First serious attempt at CQWW from the home station,
it was really fun.
Highs: several 100+ hours using antennas that are only 3m above
the roof of my house.
1 good USA run on 15m Sunday morning when the angle was
high enough to clear the hill
SU9ZZ at 23:50 on 3799 with one single call (the hill helps
sometimes!)
Lows: 40M SSB from Europe
overslept a nap by 3 hours at 03Z Sunday AM
blew up remote 40/80/160 switch, requiring a 10min trip to
change these bands
Equipment: FT1000MP, 87A, 160/40: 38' vertical, 80 Inv vee@ 8m,
20/15: 3 el interlaced with 4 el on 20' boom @ 12m,
10: 3 el on 8' boom @ 10m, all on a 200m hill, clear
shot from JA to ZS, looks into and uphill to NA & SA.
