Those 83 dupes sure hurts the score. Worked lots of guys 2nd time around
with numbers under 100. Guess there are still those out there that dont
dupe check.
I was 22 Q's behind last years pace and still needed a VE2 when I went
off at 0917Z and never made it up on Sunday but VE2AWR answered my calls
at 1536Z for the sweep. When I came back on at 1415Z, 10m was hopping so
I started there and made a few 2nd radio Q's on the other bands still
not sure if that was the best strategy or not. Last year 10m on Sunday
was my salvation. It didnt work out that way this year. Only 2 hours
over 100 on Sunday this year. Like K6LL said, by the time 10 was gone,
so was 15m up here. Didnt spend much time on the Low Bands. VE4VV (QRP)
had more 80m Q's than I did!
Once again I must thank Don for being such a great host. An operation
like this wouldnt be possible without such a willing and dedicated
station owner. Guest-Op debate aside, its sure nice to get out of the
city and play with some big aluminium.
Here are some numbers that look almost identical to K5TR's:
VE6JY
2105: 4 per minute (240/hr)
0053: 31 per 10 minutes (186/hr)
2200: 150 per hour
K5TR
2126: 4 per minute (240/hr)
0059: 30 per 10 minutes (180/hr)
2329: 149 per hour
Thats what makes this such a great contest. We each operate 24 hours,
with some different strategy and very different QTH's, and the end
result is virtually the same. Is this a great contest or what???? THERE
IS NOTHING WRONG WITH SS.
