Thought I'd get my little Field Day rig out for a workout and run QRP to see
what I could work. Ended up having a blast working stuff I never dreamed I
could work with QRP - JA, VK, V7, TZ, LZ, ZS, all of Europe plus 45 states and
8 provinces. Wow ! Had the most trouble working the close in states - missed
AR ND, SD, WY altho I heard them all.
Spent all weekend S & P with very few CQ's. I avoided pile-ups and found I
could work those popular guys later. Was fun to get them on one call when I
knew they had a mile deep pile up an hour earlier.
I don't think I am a QRP convert but I sure had a ball doing this contest with
very little. Ten meters rules !
CU all in the January test's as I am now on Christmas break from contesting.
Altho I may crank up the QRP rig for Stew Perry and see what it'll do on 160 !
