(Apparently) winning this was a real surprise. We weren't able to staff
up for an all-out effort. We operated until we were exhausted and then
slept. Totally off the air from 0730-1055Z Saturday morning. KC1XX had a
birthday party to go to Saturday night so was away for a few hours. Our
secret weapon was "Energizer Bunny" Jeremy (KB1AWE), a young op who has
been operating at our CQWW Phone efforts for the last couple of years.
Jeremy spent time on 20-10m and put in a lot of hours. I figure we
averaged about 2.5 ops over the 48 hour period.
As usual, a fun time was had by all...and we were well fed by Matt's
)KC1XX) wife, Christine. She rules!
Finally, congrats to the KT8X (@K8CC) and NR6O (@N6RO) M/M teams on great
efforts. Without such strong competition these events would not be nearly
as invigorating.
