Station Description: Rig 1 - FT-1000D/PII-450 w/Writelog & sound
card encode/decode
Rig 2 - FT-990/P-133 w/HAL P-38
Remarks: Overall, great band conditions. I had my rate sheet from
last year (SOA/Hi Power) on the desk. The first day I was within
100 QSOs of last year's rate. Day 2 was a bit slower and wound up
about 300 QSOs down. Not bad for low power! I was hoping to do
high power, but w/present setup, there's too much inter-station
interference. I ordered the W3NQN bandpass filters from WX0B
back in May, and they arrived Friday afternoon! However, there
were some wiring changes necessary, and I didn't want to risk it at
the last minute. Low power was a dream - One rig didn't know
when the other was transmitting, with the exception of the
7040/14080 combo. The only station on the high bands I coundn't
work was EX0V on 20. On 40 and 80 there were more that couldn't
hear me, not surprising as noisy as those bands are this time of
year. It was different getting beat in pileups by guys who usually
don't beat me. And, congrats to K7WM in beating me out calling a
European on 10! Many thanks to the following 5 band QSOs:
Z30M,RW2F,OL5Q,P3A,GI0KOW,W3FV,VP5JM,DA2OOO,S50U,
ON4UN,HG3DX,S58T,VE4COZ,SM7BHM,I1COB,VY2SS,DL4MCF,
OL7R,F5QE,W7TI,P43P,HC8N,VE5RI,SM5FUG, and EA8BH (who
had an amazing signal on 80). Also many thanks to VE1LMR, who
I don't believe is a contester, for a 4 band QSY for a new mult.
