Comments:
Delighted to host my first guest op, K3CQ who operated as K3CQ.
I spent the night in town and let Bill have the station from
the start of the contest until about 1700z. Was very pleased
to hear that he'd worked his first sweep in 50 SS contests.
Way to go Bill!
I took over the station at about 17:15z. After a few minutes I
decided to franticaly set up the second radio and amplifier and
see how high I could push the rate meter. I'm pretty sure that
the 91 hour is my best ever in CW SS. Sorry to K6LL and W2RQ for
my worst 2-radio episode ever. I just completely lost it when I
tried to work them both at once. I usually did better than that. <g>
Twenty was in great shape, seemingly open to everywhere. Forty was
very noisy, and not the usual money band it often is from here in SS.
I guess this is what it's like at the top of the cycle. Palmyra Island
was the best DX, and one I don't hear very often. It sounded like a
lot of folks worked a sweep fairly early on.
It was good to get back on the air and operate radio, and nice to play
host for the first time. Now I'm starting to want to fix all of
the broken stuff around here (radio, ring, computer, Beverages, etc.)
