More QSOs (999 QSOs in 1999), but the mults are down - I did not
manage
to work zones 29 (every time S 9 in Moscow on ten ) and 36 - very
easy
one at any time/any sunflux too! Yet 8 countries less due to
priority to
run on Saturday. Hope this score is new EU Russia record for HP on
10,
if someone did not beat me.
Nothing broken during the contest, but came back from business trip
on
Friday and had a scheduled long meeting with a friend from UA9 just
in
   the Saturday evening..
Running JAs pileups I tried to get zone 1 and zone 31 - both depends
on
conditions very much. On Sunday morning I put in my log 3 KL7s -
KL7RA -
   S 9+15db, KL7Y and KL7AC (repeat: 3 stations worked from the zone
1
which I still need to CFM on ten for 5BWAZ/200 of 4 missing
zones
not QSLed yet!) and got nothing from KH6/V7! After 10 z I
understood
I have lost Havaii for sure because no any contacts
whenever
in the past at night time from KH6. But I got another rarest chance
!
After the regular conditions escaped late in the Sunday evening I
had
been scanning 28000-28200 khz with hopes to pick up some mults from
Central
and South America, if it happens, with antenna strictly to West. My
tries
to call PZ5JR did not give me the new mult - he was vy weak at once
with
nobody else on the whole band.
I got tired out and thoughts were to give up.
One hour later weakest signals challenged me to change antenna`s
direction
to NW and the band got alive again with many loud thrilling signals
from NA,
CA and SA due to abnormal aurora opening! K7ZZ, W7RG and others from
3-rd
zone were really loud! In meanwhile somewhere around 28100 I hear
numbers
   "5.... 3...1..." - it is really NH7A just 20 db below the
(night!) noise.
I try to call him - he can here but can`t read me! - and QSYed!!!
Zone 31
   escaped another time ..
Few minutes later another "..9.. 3....1....5..3..." Is it again NH7A
? NO!
KH7R - first call and he got me!! - I mean the signal came in from
NW,
in fact, it is as amazing for Moscow as working Asia from W6 with
antenna
   pointed to KP4 !.
New zone and new country. To KH7R/N6TJ - THANKS for your good ears,
Jim!
