My first 160m test... lots of fun! I am not really sure what the club has up
on 160. It's just some wire going through the tuner. I was surprised at how
well I heard and got out. It got REALLY slow at times... but never got fast.
There would be spurts of 2 or 3 minutes where there were always people calling,
then there would be 20 minutes of nothing. Missed LA for WAS... ???????????
Also missed DC, YT, NWT, and every VE east of VE2. I quit early (0822z) on the
first night because I almost fell asleep mid qso. Four hours of sleep followed
by a long day of school and a 160m contest do not mix well. :) Last qso was at
0945z on the second night. Lots of GREAT ears out there! Missed but heard was
P43P, NP4A, FM5BH. P43P got the call, but gave up during the exchange of
state. NP4A was working someone else, so no chance there. But FM5BH was
constantly cqing in the face of at least 4 or 5 guys. Must be high noise down
in the carib. A few said YV1DIG was calling me, but I never heard him. Had a
lot of fun, and thanks for the q's!
