Hello all
I have just come across two instances where people have
produced hand generated summary forms that are practically identical
to what WA7BNM's Web page generates. This seems to be a new phenomenom.
One post I just caught, the other was unfortunately left out of the final
NAQP SSB summary as a result (and I accept the blame). I don't have
a problem with people doing this but you may want to be aware of my
processes when it comes to generating summaries.
When I get ready to generate summaries, I put e-mail into two
piles - standardized forms generated by Bruces Web page and "other".
Those in the "other" pile have to be manually entered into my database
because the data comes in no standardized format and requires a
human eye. Pages generated by Bruces page get sucked into the database
by software.
I only glance (mere seconds) at each page when producing these
piles - I can't afford to analyze each one. If it "looks" like a standardized
page - into that pile it goes. However, the software is more discriminating
and if that look-a-like page is missing a specific trigger, it gets
skipped by the software. If you are going to produce summaries
that match WA7BNM's standardized format, then just use WA7BNM's page.
If you insist on otherwise, then use some distinguishing feature that grabs
my attention (make it easy on me) or I can't promise I won't miss your
post and I hate doing that.
I have been doing this for 3 years now. Just when I think I have
seen everything - something new pops up. :>) I love it.
