Comments:
Yikes....1st time over 300 Q's, but got skunked on mults! Although I'm happy
about hitting the 300 mark in my 4th sprint, I know I can do better. The 1st
30 min were a blur, I didn't expect to get blown away mentally by using a
different name & call, but I did! Thanks to my pal, Sam-K9SD, for the use of
his fine station, having real 20m antennas is neat, plus a full 1500w is a real
difference from my usual 500w when it comes to getting thru on the 1st call.
Also learned that a 4-square sloper system rocks the west coast, but sucks
going out to Ohio on 75! I guess a simple dipole is in order. Nice to have
the combo of Sam's long boom 2ele @ 140' and a 30' dipole for 40, along with
his 3 high stack of KT34XA's on 20. Now, I just need to learn what to do with
all of this firepower!
