Comments:
This was planned as M/S effort, but all the other buddies were busy, so it
turned to be a SO effort by myself. LZ2FV was kind enough to help me Friday
afternoon to install the beverages and went back in Pleven.
Condx were extremely poor, but this time differently from CW part it was a
verticals' weekend and I have had the feeling I really was getting out.
Everything worked on first or second call, but not too much activity. Both
nights I have had some boring hours calling endless CQ TEST without answers.
Made over 100 QSOs during first hour of the contest and other 408 QSOs for the
rest of the time ??? Ukraine and Russian guys saved the contest here.
Worked only VE1ZZ ( who else) from NA and Jack had S9 signal. Heard K1ZM ,but
Jeff has gone while I was retuning up on the band. Heard P49V but so weak that
I decided not to call since I was not sure I could get my report. Thanks to
Z35A,T98G,GM4BES and GW3YDX,CT1FJK,YL2LY and other guys for calling me second
night for new mults. Out of EU worth mentioning are
A61AO,CT3DL,CT9L,RV0AR,UN7AB,EX8W and other EXs,couple of 4L, EK6CC, few RA9s
and etc. Where were GI ( where were you Dick GI3OQR ?), EA6,GD,GJ,OH0,CT2,4X ?
Equipment used : IC 735, ACOM 2000A
Antennas: 20m high vertical, beverages - 300m to USA/VK, 250m S.America -
Russia, 160m - North.South ( all beverages unterminated ), 20db W8LRL preamp.
See you in WPX SSB ( but may be on 10m where there is no time for endless CQs
due to sun spot Nos.)
73's de Wally LZ2CJ
