Comments: This contest started off really slow. Thought I would do much
worse than last year (well, I did by about 1 Million points!), but thought
it was going to be worse than that! Friday night was a bummer and Saturday
wasn't too good either. Then 20 opened up big time Saturday night. Seemed
like Europe wouldn't quit. Hated to go to bed with good band conditions.
Sunday turned out to be fantastic as well. Had a run on Europe on 15 that
just didn't want to quit! Lots of fun. Never heard Japan that well. Just
a handful of stations. No really rare or odd DX except 9G5MD who called me
when I was on my vertical! Had to use the vertical on 15 when my wife was
home as the beam interferes with the TV (15's the only band - thought I had
them all clean!). Worst shock was having the rolling inductor in my tuner
start on fire due to some arcing. Time for a new tuner. That old Heathkit
just isn't made for 1500 Watts!

Fun time. Let's do it again next year.

73,

Jon
