Comments:

Figured I use this occasion to dust off the station and get rid of some
operator rust. I had a good time but more than once I stared out the window at
the great weekend WX and wondered what I was doing inside.
15 meters really got hot Sunday morning but the 12Z finish didn't allow much
of a chance to take advantage. I worked a couple of EA & CT types on 10 Sunday
morning and felt if we had another hour or so, the band might have opened a bit
further for some needed mults. As it turned out, I worked a total of 7
Europeans on 10 the entire weekend. 15 produced a very brief JA opening but
nothing even close to the weekend before.
All last winter I suffered with a bad line noise problem to the south that
prevented me from even hearing JT1CO for my last zone on 80. That problem was
resolved this spring but now I have an even worse line noise problem directly
to Europe. It was manageable on CW but pretty tough on SSB. That will have to
be job one before this fall!
Finally, to use Bill O'Reilly's most ridicolous item of the day (contest),
some guy broke in on 15 meters Saturday morning and told me there was a net
above and below me and I had to move. Never mind that I had been there for
well over an hour. He instructed me that the 5 kc's between the two nets was
to be kept clear. In different circumstances, I might have accommodated them
but this was a bit much. My refusal to give ground was met by some fine
upstanding net op trying to harass me for the next 10 minutes. After
continuing to run EU through this guy and not even mentioning his existence, he
finally disappeared.
