Comments:
We enjoyed the good band conditions this year. From my perspective it was
clear that activity was up from last year. This may be partly due to better
band conditions, however, our totals for almost all the counties we operated in
were up considerably. It was great to hear everyone's input. I received a lot
of requests for Glenn, Del Norte, and Yuba. DelN was too far North for us but
we were in Glenn, although it was late in the evening - 07:49 - ~08:12 Z. I
seriously considered a return to Glenn in the morning, but it didn't make sense
for the latter part of the trip. Unfortunate because a lot of the fun of
operating mobile is "handing out the rare one".
This year I was able to work more operating time into the counties that are
usually "rare" and that paid off in total QSOs. For instance:
Kings 151 Qs
Sutter 85
Yolo 81
Although there were some cases where I really missed the mark:
Glenn 13 Qs
LAX 91 Qs
Overall we had a lot of fun. Thanks especially go to my father, K0KTZ for
stepping up to do almost all of of the driving.
73,
Dave, K0DI
