Comments:
I could only operate for a few hours on Saturday, as we had family in on Sunday
for Thanksgiving (here in Canada). Mults came really quickly on Saturday
night; the only ones I ended up missing were Del Norte, Glenn, Mariposa and
Siskiyou.
Low point of the contest was on Saturday night when a KJ6-something station
came on SSB on 20m from Siskiyou. He was loud, and looked like an easy mark,
but do you think he could hear me? He worked about eight stations while I
patiently called through the pile-up; finally, he came back with a "VE3?" (my
100w tuned into 15/40 dipole is not exactly a pile-up buster). Then he said
something like, "Nuts, my computer just messed up..." Then, nothing. QRT or
QSY. Gone. Oh well; 54 mults for a couple of hours on Saturday night seems
pretty good. If I could have put a few more hours in, I'm pretty sure I
could've swept and run up the QSO count to score more respectably.
Anyway, thx fer the fb CA QSOs and thx to the organizers for a vy fb test.
This was my first try at CQP, and I'll be back next year.
