Comments:
My first SS in 15 years! Operated from fb station at N4RV's. Last SS was from
the Ga. Tech club station W4AQL in 1986 as a multiop and crude form of computer
logging. BTW, W4AQL called me with minutes remaining. So did VY1JA - Thanks!
I decided at the last moment to start on 15m. I'm not sure if that was the
best choice but did ok there. Did not take too long to learn how good 40m is
in SS CW! My best band by far. I stopped at 3am east coast time. Had the
energy to go further but decided not to push it. I began again at 6am. In
retrospect, given the good activity present at 3am and how poorly I did later
on Sunday, I maybe should have gone longer and used more off time later. I've
got a lot to learn.
I'd like to credit PVRC for pushing folks like me to get on the air to win the
gavel back from SMC, but given the SMC activity I heard (huge), I don't feel
we've got a prayer. K9PG and co. doing a fine job! I am now bit by the SS bug
and will try to get on as time permits from now on. Thanks everyone for an
enjoyable weekend!
Rob
