Comments:
After the bands crapped out, I went to sleep for about 4 hours, waiting for a
20m opening at European sunrise on Saturday, which never happened. At 1800Z, I
had just under 1000 Qs, down 1000 Qs from last year at the same time. Went out
to dinner with XYL. Went to sleep Saturday nite about 0200Z, and woke up about
0800Z, again, hoping for a EU opening on 20 - NOT!
Fortunately, the bands came back to life with a vengeance after sunrise on
Sunday. From 1200-2000Z, I had 1158 QSOs, averaging 145/hour over the 8 hours!
My best single hour was 179, which I believe is a personal best from my home
station. That's what I live for - the high rate hours. I wouldn't mind skipping
the multiplier chasing and packet pileups altogether :.)
