Comments:
After struggling through the famous Saturday conds , I joined the family for TV
viewing and decided to take an early night. Got up in the early hours, still
quiet, back to bed => Had a good nights sleep and entered the chair well rested
to surprisingly good conds on Sunday morning. The mood quickly turned from
?calling the contest a day? and spending the day on more ?useful? activities,
to entering the addictive contest mode.
High points:
During one of my few 'cq test? periods, with excellent 15m conds mid-day
Sunday, I peaked a rate of 145 q?s/hr. Wow! Suspicious of being a spot on
some cluster, as there for a few moments was a ?wall of? US callers. Fun as
long as it lasted.
In the midst of a 10m cq-period with 'local' EU traffic came a call ?out of the
blue? from VK6HD. Very encouraging.
Learning point: Nevertheless chanceless in the most heavy pile-up
competitions, spend more quality time on multiplier hunting.
Equipment: Kenwood TS-570, Dipole (80-40), Sigma5 Vertical Dipole (20-15-10)
