VE6JY operated by Bill VE6BF...... Pregame strategy involving the new 1000utc
start (3 am local time) was basically to skip the first 3 hours - we didn't
think they would be productive - and get up at a more decent hour. The ability
to chose ANY 12 hours to operate (not forced to op 8 out of the first 12) was
nice and helped Bill maximize the different call areas as propagation shifted.
80m always seemed full of signals that disappeared as soon as Bill came off his
1 hour break time. Conditions generally seemed good from Western Canada.
Next year Bill says he's had enough practise and may just do the 24 hour
category....
