I guess it's the time of the propagtion cycle when the
Black Hole starts to close in. Western Hemisphere contacts were
up about 10%, but Real DX was down considerably on 15 meters.
Unlike reports from the coasts, 15 meters did close down here
in the middle of the night and opened a couple hours later
than last year. Ten continues its slide, with only 7 European
beacons making there way into my log.
My rate was lower in 32 of the 36 hours this year. Maybe its
time to have 240 volts installed in the shack so I can run
high power.
I worked everyone I heard, just didn't hear enough! It seemed
to be like Dayton this year - I, and many others, saw a decrease
in the crowds and activity, yet some saw it as a better than
average year.
Still, it's good to get away from the cares of the world for
a weekend. What a commentary on life that getting pushed
around as a low power contester from the Midwest is the
highlight of my month!
