Comments:
I planned on concentrating on 6 pointers on 40 meters and I stuck to that plan,
unlike P41P, who adapted his plan to the conditions and hosed me. Actually with
113 and 108 QSOs in the first two hours on 40 I wasn't doing too badly. But I
should have run to the high bands after that. I thought I would pick up mults on
the 2nd radio, but there was too much interstation interference and that didn't
work out. In this one, mults are a product of rate and I just kept plugging on
40.
I had a 3 hour power failure Saturday afternoon in the middle of my best rate
hours, but the rate was never as good as last year.
I actually ran into a pig farmer on 40 CW!!! I was near the bottom of the band
and the guy kept sending 599 over and over and over. He was real loud. After 2
minutes, I stopped CQing. He sent about another 20 599's and then figured he had
chased me away. He left and I got the frequency back.
