Comments:

Planned to activate FM25 from the rented house. The antennas went together(11 L
on 2,Dipole on 6), the 15 foot mast when up and into the tripod on the 30 foot
high deck and then I listened to lots of quiet band noise. This being the start
of a vacation I did not feel compelled to sit in the chair like I do at home (
the steamed shrimp are way to good at Pop's and the Corona is cold). Six was a
big ZERO except for a brief opening on Sunday into the midwest. A few people
lost a Q when they heard W8CAR and swung their beam toward EN81-I almost always
gave my grid when calling. It was fun but I won't do it again soon. That being
said, we will be traveling home next year during the test so I'll probably be a
rover-if I can figure out how to find grid boundaries on my triptick!

A COMMENT: Why do so many people refuse to do CW in these VHF thingies? Could
have lots more Qs using CW and yes I called them and called CQ on CW.

73 Dan W8CAR
equipment IC706 MK2 100 on 6, 50 on 2, no antenna on 432
