Comments:

Having just gotten my KT36XA back up after "gustnado" damage, had lots of low
band antetnna work to do, so entered fone NAQP as part timer. A half hour into
the contest finished putting the top band inverted L back up. An hour after that
finally realized problems with DVK was not software, but a disconnected plug.
May have been a blessing to kill 3/4 of my off time at the beginning because I
sure seemed to do better on low bands than high! 40 was by far my money band.
One side of the 80 meter dipole is hung up in branches w/lots of leaves and
such. Don't know how much that really effected the signal - seemed to easily
work pretty much anyone called, just couldn't get any runs going - psych? I know
there was some sporadic E on ten, but I think it was too spotty to get any mass
movement of people to that band. Heard someone try to move KT0R to ten, so
followed them. Don't think whoever moved him made the grade, but Dave was S9
plus here and a mult. Heard quite a few non-contesting operators at various
locations on ten. Had one 6 call on ten, but he dropped into never-never land
before we could complete the Q. Great to see a number of unfamiliar calls in the
contest. With 20/20 hindsight, I should have made much more of an effort to be
prepared for this one! Bring on da Sprints! 73 de Lar K7SV
