Comments:

I'll take my spot at the bottom of the standings.

Unfortunately, this was the first time I turned the rig on since the February
Sprint, and will probably be the last time for the next couple months. The
operational tempo at work increased dramatically with the increased homeland
threat level and later the war with Iraq, and my hours practically doubled. In
addition, I received unexpected transfer orders to a ship homeported in Key
West, so I'm in the midst of packing to move the family further south. After
working during the 1st day, I turned the rig on for a couple minutes the second
day before putting it in it's box and taking down the stealth vertical I've used
to good effect for the past couple years.
I will be leaving "Station Vacation" and going to a job where I'm going to
have to actually work for a living, so I won't be able to be as active as I've
been in the past. I will be at sea for 6 months total of the year, but there's
a chance I can op /MM. I'm looking foward to "testing propagation" from a new
QTH surrounded by salt water in all directions.
Thanks for all the QSOs over the past few years. It's been a blast, starting
with the amazing welcome from K1TO, K1PT, and all the guys in the Florida
Contest Group, and peaking with the experience at WRTC 2002. I'm looking foward
to seeing everyone on the air from Key West, and glad that I'll be able to
continue my association with that great, always growing club.
Finally, while it might seem to suck having to get underway on a ship for 2
month stints, it's nothing like our guys overseas in Iraq, Afghanistan, Bosnia,
and elsewhere. They're the heroes, risking life every day for months on end.
I'm just going on a Carribean cruise (which is our operating area) compared to
them.

See ya soon from *rare* Monroe County, FL!
