FT840, R7 ( with T Hats missing )
Was the lead team member of the original record breaking team of club station
VU2JNA from 1998. Being QRL for over 5 years now from the contesting scene, I
basically used the contest as a deadline to get my shack back in place. The R7
went up but the T Hats were still not ready. This weekend was also the Indian
festival of Diwali and I had many social committments to keep. Imagine having a
contest over the Thanksgiving weekend :-)
Memorable moments in my record breaking 39 QSOs.....Working Argentina, Chile and
Panama with strong signals.
Most memorable QSO....working DP1POL...we were both surprised at the amazing
signal strength. But being in contest mode, we quickly corrected ourselves and
did not break into a rag chew :-)
