Comments:
Despite the experts claim of pending propagation doom, a great weekend for condx
on all bands. Higher bands stayed open longer and opened sooner each morning.
Two of my amps went BANG! in the night. The aging Drake L4B went BANG in the
middle of a good run on 15 yet the pile up never slowed down when I was running
barefoot. Mmmmm :-) Took a break and dug out an aging Clipperton L and after
awhile it to started snapping so fell back to a single tube AL80 which worked
well the balance of the test.
A lot of fun working side by side again with Don VE3XD. With all of my beams on
a single mast, this did create some afternoon challenges as 10 started moving
towards Asia and South Pacific while 15 and 20 where still strong towards
Europe. Maybe it's time to convince VE3RE (XYL) the need for another tower
:-)
As usual Don's wife Barb and my XYL Marg fed us well and a great time was had by
all.
BTW anyone else notice the VERY poor operating habits of W3L*L? Kept finding
him dropping on top of other users of frequency and when he did this with
someone who was more persistent than he, war broke out :-( Bad news.
