Comments:
I had no idea I'd be going to Mexico City Wednesday the 26th of November. But
business called. Ramon, XE1KK, was very gracious in opening his station to me
at the last minute. Mil Gracias, Amigo!
The goal was to set a new Zone 6 single band record on 15 meters. Done! After
perusing the NG3K contest activity listing, I considered a zone sweep to be a
distinct possibility. Close, but the cigar goes to HZ1AB! I was daunted by the
TO4WW pileup and never did get through. Despite the abundance of JT activity, I
never even heard any of them. Zone 22 was also never heard. I was delighted to
have zones 17, 18, 24, and 40 call me.
Working DXCC during the first time on the air with XE1NTT was quite a treat.
Thanks to FK8, S9, BW4, TF, A6, 5N, CE and others for calling me.
Conditions were definitely good. Ramon's Log Periodic did a fine job of
bringing in signals from all directions. And his QTH is surprisingly quiet for
being in the middle of an electrical grid supporting 20 million people. I
worked many a JA or EU station sitting right at the noise level.
Congratulations to DL5XX and others for their BIG 15 meter scores.
I found it frustrating to work 90 dupes as a single band op, but I chose not to
send "QSO B4" messages.
The QSLs are already coming in. I hope to have cards printed in 6 to 8 weeks so
bear with me. Please help me help you...An SASE to N6AN is BY FAR the easiest
way for me to get a card to you.
Thanks to all CQWW participants out there who make this such an amazing contest
experience. Two 24 hour back to back periods make for a superb propagation
study.
73, David, XE1NTT/N6AN
