Comments:
Not long ago, CQ?ing in the 10 meter contest for a small station meant looking
for a hole above 28.150. I miss those days. This weekend I could CQ anywhere,
and except for a few hours Friday and a few more Saturday morning, it really
didn?t matter. Propagation Friday evening was very interesting and reminded me
of 144 mhz tropospheric ducting and/or sporadic E. I had six QSO?s after the
first hour (started a little late) ? four of them ZL or 3D2, and supper smelled
great, so after that I returned to not much more going on. That soon changed
with 4?s starting to come in. They weren?t S-meter busters, but they were
workable. Then came the 6?s, followed by the central/midwestern U.S., and
finally the northwest and some VE?s. After all was said and done, I went to bed
with 31 states and provinces, an incredible surprise after such a slow start.
However, that was truly the highlight here.
