Comments:

Too much time has elapsed since the contest to remember the details so not much
of a story this time.

One amusing thing I recall:

Heard someone CQing and then announcing that he's SO2R. I don't care about his
station setup, what's his call? Oops, now I get it, he's from Poland and that
is his call. Does he check the SO2R box on 3830?

As always, I keep trying to break the 1,000 Q barrier. When I went to bed at
0730Z Sunday I had 653 Qs and 184 mults. If I come back at 1400 I'll have 10
hours to get 350 Qs to make the 1,000. As always, sounds very doable.
Typically doesn't happen.

1459 Target 688 Qs, actual 661 Qs, 27 Qs behind
1559 Target 723 Qs, actual 685 Qs, 38 Qs behind
1659 Target 758 Qs, actual 710 Qs, 48 Qs behind
1759 Target 793 Qs, actual 720 Qs, 73 Qs behind
1859 Target 828 Qs, actual 733 Qs, 95 Qs behind - not looking good
1959 Target 863 Qs, actual 763 Qs, 100 Qs behind - picked up a little
2059 Target 898 Qs, actual 805 Qs, 93 Qs behind - getting better but not much
hope
2159 Target 933 Qs, actual 931 Qs, woo-hoo a 126 hour - only 2 Qs behind - got
a chance
2259 Target 968 Qs, actual 990 Qs, 22 Qs ahead - I think I'm going to make it
2359 Target 1003 Qs, actual 1100 Qs, 97 Qs ahead - a 110 hour

What a fabulous finish, best I've ever done. 4 dupes so actual total is 1096.

Altogether, 3 100+ hours. Really good for me. The 126 hour was real fun. For
a brief moment there I was logging 3 Qs/minute. It was very gratifying to to
find that my skills had developed to the point where I could pull calls out of
the pileup fast enough to maintain this rate.

Thanks for all the Qs in 2003

73 es Happy New Year de Jim Smith VE7FO
