Great fun! First time in Multi-2 and in spite of several problems such as
computers that wouldn't talk to each other and one whose clock lost about 15
minutes every hour we ended up meeting our objective: what we believe to be a
new Canadian M2 record. Very suprised to work 88 countries on 10 which had
seemed to be very poor before the weekend. Excellent 160 and 80 condx were
pleasant suprise. It was nice to be called by such as YK, EL, A4 etc!
Station 1 was on 80, 20 and 10 using a TS-870 and Homebrew 4CX1000 amp, Station
2 a TS950SD and Alpha 87A on 160, 40 and 15. Antennas : 160 dipole at 70 ft., 80
halfwave dipole sloper towards Europe, SkyHawk for 10-15-20 on tower one, CC
XM-240 at 85 ft and TH5 fixed on Europe and a multiband dipole on tower 2. All
antennas were available to both stations via a WX0B SixPak. Six bandpass relay
switched W3NQN type filters were used at each transceiver. Although this
arrangement has been in use for a few years in CQWW M/S with virtually no
interference between stations this time there was some. It appears to be
external crossmodulation so may be a little hard to eliminate.
