Comments:
I had originally intended to do the full 36 hours, but conditions were so poor I
decided that it wasn't worth the suffering. I almost pulled the plug on Saturday
night, but luckily I hung around long enough to catch the summer time "polar
express" opening into Europe which hadn't materialized on Friday night due the
disturb conditions. I pulled the plug at around 0800 UT on Sunday morning after
20 meters finally started to fold.
Only heard two Euros on 15 all weekend (both skew path from the Southeast). Even
managed to work one of them (YZ1AU). This was not really surprising considering
conditions. What was suprising, however, was the lack of JAs on 15 meters. I
only worked about 10 all weekend.
In any case, I got lots of SO2R practice, and aside from moving the VFO knob on
the wrong radio twice (e.g. the one which was transmitting), I felt like I
actually was in control of things for a change. Perhaps there is hope for me
afterall.
Cu all next time!
