Always fun to participate in this contest.
I had a pretty decent run on 20 m in the afternoon (best hour was 112/hr).
15 was better than expected, however I never managed to produce any EU run there
besides few sporadic U.S. pile-ups.
Now when I've done this contest many times from both EU and N.A. sides I can say
that Europeans' advantage of having the opportunity to work more multipliers on
80 and 160 m bands is pretty obvious. Just look at this huge number of HQ
stations from Europe! And compare it to NU1AW, VE7RAC and W1AW from N.A...
I tried a dozen times during the night to work W1AW/0 on 160 m (like many
others) but looks like the RX portion of their 160m station was not really ready
for summer contesting... Finally managed to work them on my sunrise after about
5 minutes of calling... Which gave my 2nd HQ on that band (in addition to
NU1AW).
Now to disassembling the station for summer repairs, upgrades and modifications.
