This contest is one of my favorites. Missed 4 hours due to back problems that
flared up 5 days before the contest. Just coouldn't stay in the chair any
longer. What 10 meter EU opening are you "northerners" talking about? I was
amazed at how good the conditions really were. Perhaps when we tune across the
"dead" bands, they're really open but no one is calling CQ. Give it a try and
surprise yourself.
After several frustrating experiences with SO2R (can't teach an old dog new
tricks), I went single radio, and did better than last year. Hats off to those
guys who can master that method.
Thanks to all for the Qs, particularly the EU guys I worked on 80 with a very
modest half sloper antenna.
