A strong thunderstorm near Emporia kept me from going to my operating site in
EM18 Saturday afternoon. Sunday morning had to go to a family reunion with the
XYL. Was able to drive out to the "Cattle Pens" Sunday evening and operate the
last couple of hours of the contest. No Es on 6 Meters, but some tropo trying on
2 Meters. I worked K5QE EM31 at 500 miles on 144 MHz at 0053 utc Sept. 13. Not
bad for 10 watts and a 7 element yagi.
