Comments:

Wow! What fun just as we were all about to
write off 10 for this Solar Cycle! I had my best fully
duped hour to Europe (210) of any of the past 6 years
of doing the CQ WW SSB from here in NC. Could
be a combination of more experience, Orion and
conditions that favored my location.

        I was surprised when I stopped by to chat
with Matt KC1XX late Sunday afternoon. He said
10 was terrible there on Saturday which is when I
had my best hour! In retrospect, Matt is probably
correct because the opening was not very deep on
Saturday. However, I still logged more QSO's on
Saturday (710) than Sunday (684) in the peak 12-16
UTC periods. Perhaps I did better Saturday from
35N since I may have had less competition from
other USA stations farther North.

        A few memories of a great weekend:

* Great conditions Friday night...made strategic
decision to S&P only in case Asian conditions
never returned...good choice in retrospect!

* Woke up early Saturday and turned on gear to
warm up before making coffee. Amazed to hear
and work 5H3HK at 1005z and OE2S at 1008z,
over 1.5 hours before my 1142z sunrise. This
did not repeat on Sunday for me.

* Africa is BACK!  15 z33, 2 z34, 5 z35, 4 z36, 5 z37,
13 z38 and 3 z39's!!!!

* Question for the CQ Committee: I worked G4SOF
at home (guest op) and later G4SOF/mobile (owner).
2 different stations, operators and calls. Is that a dupe?

* Worked PY1AHD pedestrian mobile.  See Alex's
antenna here: http://hps.infolink.com.br/py1ahd/foto4.htm

* Thought I was going to miss both Zone 2 and KL7 but
then logged 2 within 5 minutes each on Sunday afternoon!

* Pleasant surprises: EX9A 1155z Sunday, 3 different P29's!,
JW5E and TF3YH via polar opening Sunday PM.

        I was thinking about moving to 160 for the CQ WW CW
but if these conditions repeat (27 day cycle), I may do 10 again!
Thanks to all for the QSO's and THANK YOU GOD for the
wonderful conditions!

                                73,  Bill  W4ZV
