Comments:

Glad to beat last year's score and use the potential of the station and myself
much better. Hoped maybe even improve the last years 3rd place in EU till saw
the tremendous results from OE4A and supposedly GI1W. Congratulations also to
other guys with great results.

I am happy as everything went well. Lasted for 48 hours easily with 2 small 1-2
minute breaks. No animals visiting this year. Almost no food, a large bottle of
coke and a bunch of energy drinks. Slept well on Friday and also 4-5 hours
before the contest - magic formula. Now I know how this has to be done.

Caught the fantastic 2-3 hour 10m opening on Sunday. Moved everything that
resembled a multiplier to all possible bands. Really big thanks to all who
moved! Some real nice stuff on 80m and 160m due to that - XX9C, 6W1RY, VK9XC,
5U, 5X, 9V1, 9M6, VK, DU, A5, YI etc.. FP was real strong on 160m and VY2ZM 59+
on sunrise. No US stations heard on 160m.

It is really hard to get any bigger QSO count in this region. Once you exlpoit
all the possible openings to US and JA on high bands and during the night 40m is
closed to US then you just have nothing do to, no decent rate from EU on low
bands. I had my last years score of 5,5 mio at 16z on Sunday already and really
hoped 20m would give some US opening but not really. The end was very
dissapointing indeed trying to squeeze out weak EU stations from 40m tremendous
QRM level.

CQ on 40m was still very productive around midnight as many mults called in -
inreadible how one by one all the african stations called in (C9, 5U, 3B8, 6W,
5X, ZS, V5, 5Z, 7P8, 9L1, S79, VQ9). Special thanks to C91Z for extreme
patience! Those 40m dx-s with 80m QSY-s are one of the highlights for me.

CU in CW,
