I was sick in bed all week and finally felt a little better on Saturday, so my
girlfriend and I put up a temporary inverted "L'. The vertical portion is only
about 30 feet high and the horizontal portion is only about 25 feet high at the
end with a good deal of droop in the horizontal span. Only put out 4 radials as
I started to feel sick again after get the "main" antenna up. I was surprised
how well it worked. I was able to CQ high up in the band and hold a frequency.
My apologies to those who called that I couldn't pull out. No time to put up a
beverage. Plans are for a 1/4 balloon vertical and a couple of temporary
beverages for CQ 160 with W1MD.......M/S. Next, the ARRL 10 Meter Contest.
