Score history (claimed)

NAQP Qs Mults Score
==============================
2005 Feb 420 142 59,640
2004 Feb 219 100 21,800
2003 Feb 191 87 16,616

Improving year over year... aimed for 300 QSOs and beat the goal by 120. Nearly
tripled the score from last year, but fell about 2 Qs or 1 mult short of an even
60,000 points.

Had a great time. Planned three breaks, but ended up taking 2 hours at 3:20 p.m.
Pacific.

10M was solar roadkill. 15M was pretty good, and 20M was strong once it settled
down here. Never did get much happening on 40M though signals were strong in the
early evening (6 p.m.) I used the half-G5RV and a 40M delta loop, but the loop
was pointed at 40 degrees or so for EU work last weekend and I never did get it
turned SE again.

I didn't think 80M was going to pan out for me; signals weren't that strong as
dark fell. Sure enough, they picked up and I ended up breaking 100 Qs there with
the big delta loop temporarily pointed SE-NW (usually it's due E-W).

Still no response from BC Hydro (power utility co.) on the dangerous and noisy
power pole they've got down the block. It's a true S-7 to S-9 here on 20, 15 and
10M -- and getting worse. I don't notice it quite as much on the wire antennas,
but the noise floor is still at S-8 on 80M so I guess it's impacting all the way
down. Wiped out many a viable contact for me today.

No response at all after reporting it two weeks ago. Next step: repeat my report
to BC Hydro (nicely one more time), and wait another few weeks for resolution.
If it isn't repaired, I am going to start making a major noise of my own. (BC
Hydro is running expensive full-page "responsible power" ads in the local paper
right now. Wonder what my plan is?)

Some two-week-old noise recordings are on the web

Had a super day at the radio. Looking forward to the next one, of course. See
you there.
