Comments:
I was undecided about whether or not to even enter this contest up until about
15 mintues before the gun went off. My wife had oral surgery Friday morning and
I had work commitments for most of Sunday. So at best this would be a 12-15
hour contest for me.
At the last minute I decided to jump in with a goal of 500 Qs. Friday night the
prop was great over the pole. I had been listening earlier in the week to get
an idea of where the prop was going on 20 in the evenings. I (wrongly) figured
I could work over the pole both Friday & Saturday night, hence, I packed it in
pretty early on Friday. Big mistake - guess I wouldn't make a good gambler.
Most of Saturday was pretty painful from Colorado. I was hoping for the big EU
or AS opening that never happend.
None the less, it was fun to get on. Since I knew this was only a part time
effort, most of my time was spent in CQ mode. I'm ready for Summer to finally
arrive here in Colorado. Plans are to finally get some much needed antenna work
done and be ready for next season.
