Club: Bere Island Group
Comments:
This is the second airing of the Bere Island Group's call, EJ2MT.
As last year it was a great cooperative effort between the East Cork
and Bristol contest groups.
Conditions were much improved this year especially on the Sunday morning.
Unlike last year plenty of JAs, YB/YC/YE, VK, ZL, 9M6 and 9V1 made the log.
Pity there wasn't more activity from the Carribbean.
The weather was kind to us, but there were a few equipment hitches.
The computers decided to go on strike a few times, but overall worked well.
Our biggest headache was after the contest when one of the towers decided
to jam solid at 80ft.
Equipment: 2 x FT1000D with AL1500 linear amplifiers
Antennas: 3 x A3S Tribanders at 100ft, 90ft and 70ft,
2ele 40m Cushcraft beam at 85ft,
quarter wave verticals for 40m and 80m, 2 x dipoles for 80m.
