Comments:
Another great ARRL SS, I am ready for the phone version in 2 weeks. I really
missed ND, NNY and NL and it looks like a lot of others did also.
80 was really noisy on Saturday night so I moved back to 40 and did what I could
there. I did listen on 160 but didn't hear anyone there and I did call CQ for
about 5 minutes two different times and got no responses. I did listen and
heard some weak stations on 10 but I didn't attempt to call them since 15, 20
and 40 were a lot better.
This is my third time on CW SS and I always try to improve. I think my pace is
about the same all S&P but I spent more time each year. Here is a comparison
summary from each year's logs:
2003 2004 2005
QSOs 247 372 429
Sections 63 74 77
Time 11:07 17:03 19:50
Score 31,122 55,056 66,066
This year I tried a new antenna, a 2 wavelength 80 meter loop, about 500 feet of
wire about 45' high. It seemed to work really good and I did not use the TH11DX
for more than 25 QSOs.
See you in the WAE-RTTY this weekend and SS-Phone next weekend.
