Comments:

Hadn't planned on entering. Band not so hot. Never worked a G or SM, etc.
Score is a long way from my 2002 USA record: 237,523 561 31 120

Used an FT817 as the only rig for the entire contest. Quite amazing...it really
works well...I was very (happily) surprised. Ant = 154CD @ 82' and 2L Quad
fixed south @38' (same tower).

Highlights:
Working ZS1 through giant pileup when (I guess) I was the only one who heard him
say "up a bit." Got him on the next call (yes, with 5 watts), while the other
KW boys were still calling him on freq. Nothing works like listening to
instructions.

Did the same thing with S9SS (but he didn't say UP, I just did it). I had the
speaker open for my teenage girls to hear the giant pileup on the him. They
cheered me on, "Work him daddy!" So I went split and call him UP and bingo...he
came right back on one call. Again, the KW boys were left calling and calling
on his QRG. Too easy. I must be genuinely old now. Anyhow, nice to hear my
kids cheer my success. :-)
