Comments:
With too few operators to do a serious M/2 as usual, we decided to maximize our
score for the FRC and went M/M. Actually had a lot of fun, even though a very
severe power leak at a nearby construction site made 160 and 80 all but unusable
to the south for extended periods the first and second evenings. My thanks to
Nick (N3NA) and Ed (N3ED) for the patience to sit there and work those that we
could hear. Richard (K3IPK) was a last minute addition to the team and did
yeoman work on 15M and 80M. John (W8FJ) did his usual excellent job on 40M.
The 20M band was done by Sig (N3RS) with some spot relief from Nick and
Richard.
This must be the bottom of the cycle! Conditions rocked on the low bands, while
15 and especially 10 meters were difficult to say the least. This was the last
time the N3RS team will use CT in a major contest, as the station computers are
being upgraded to Windows XP & 2000 in preparation to transition to the N1MM
program. Our thanks to all those who called in and gave us a QSO.
73 de Sig, N3RS
