This is always a very frustrating contest for me since most of the people on the
band I can't work for credit. I had hoped an amplifier would make the contest
more fun. I think I was able to get through about 3 pileups, but the rest was
useless. I had hoped to run some on 20 and 15 but only got a few callers. It
gave me a lot of time to S&P on the second radio. I was most successful running
to SA on 15. Thanks to the 10 PYs and LUs for coming back to my lonely CQ.
I tried N1MM logger for the first time, since the version of Writelog I had did
not support the Orion and I did not feel like shelling out more money for it.
It took a while for it to key CW with the Orion. I had to change a setting on
the Orion "PTT on CW=None". Once that was taken care, it worked great. The S&P
features are different than with WL so it took some time to get used to it. I
like the other features such as tuning away from a dupe will automagically put
it in the band map and clear the screen. I had to keep telling myself to not
hit Alt-W all the time. No need to do that any more. It is going to take me a
while to digest the Help file and see what other neat hidden features it has to
make life good.
