Comments:

The contest started out well this year. The first hour of course was the best
and I saw the rate meter hit over 100 several times. I was determined to beat
my score from last year. I S&P'ed up and down the band during the first hour
and soon found a good spot to run after that. The sections flowed in with an
occasional DX. As the evening wore on, the east coast band map filled in as
well as the central states. As the first night drew to an end, I had all the
east coast sections except the one that was next door, WMA. As it turns out, I
ended up working a half dozen on Sunday. I also had most of the west except
for all of California. It was like there was some black hole over CA. Hardly
even heard a station there. Worked only one the entire contest. Saturday
night/Sunday morning had a nice opening to Europe. It sounded like 20M for a
short time. Ended up with about 16 countries and more DX. Missed the usual,
PAC, AK, YT, as well as ID, ND, WTX, VE4, VE6 and just about all of CA. But,
as I operate this contest from my condo with a stealth antenna and no RX
antennas, I thought it was quite a lot of fun.
