33 percent more Qs and 4 more mults than last year despite only a 40-meter
1/4-wave vertical on 40/80/160 (a sixteenth wave on Topband doesn't hack it!).
Very pleased with my showing although I had to quit on 20 meters early when my
TS-930S started showing obvious signs of carrier as it warmed up...but on USB
only...LSB was okay. Had a nice run on 15 early and had visions of 500 Qs but I
had to get some antenna work done to prepare for next weekend's 160 contest so I
took a couple of hours off while I still had daylight. Still, a significant
improvement from 2005 in a truly enjoyable contest!
