Comments:
My best contest score ever, which isn't saying much. My goal was to get on for
about 10 hours on Sunday GMT. Whenever possible, I tried starting a run, and
persisted in holding a run frequency even when it was clear that I wasn't making
enough Q's. Highlights of the contest were being called by A45WD (on 2
different bands), and by HS0ZDJ. Originally hailing from the WI, I am amazed by
the number of Eastern Europeans in the contest, especially OK's, OM's, and HA's.
This was also the first time I've run EU in a major DX contest.
Throughout Sunday morning EST, my runs 20 M seemed plagued by QSB. This busted
a few of my QSOs when I tried coming back to partial calls. I also struggled a
lot working UA stations. Lots of them were right at my noise level. Was nice
having 15 m propagation Sunday morning. Had lots of fun copying the long YU
special event calls. YT0TESLA, etc. Sometimes had trouble believing someone
would want to use such a long call in a contest!
All in all, a good contest. I think my last "serious" effort for a while. A
busy semester ahead.

Clayton
