My hat goes off to you guys who can sit in a chair for 45 hours. I just can't.
And with 3Y0 pilot duties etc....
Highlight of the weekend had to be HS0 on 80. He came up Saturday night and
after the spot all hell broke loose. K1XM was only one of 3 to get through
(with W3YX, N3RS) in what must have been 30 min of madness. So I decided I'd
sit around 3536 at greyline Sunday and wait for John. Sure enough around 23:00
he starts CQ-ing. I call him about 5 mins. He comes back N1? then N1G? I'm
in a total panic, what if he gets spotted and the Multi Gorrillas who send their
call 500 times without listening show up and ruin it? And, his sigs are now S3
vs. S0 when he starts. He continues to build in strengh and I"ll resending my
call DG DG DG. Well, finally clearly N1DG 5NN K. I'm feeling better than when
I worked 3Y on 160. And while I getting ready to spot him I see N1DG in my
bandmap so I go to the cluster to see:
3536.3 N1DG 19-Feb-2006 2308Z MA +K <HS0ZDJ>
Who here can say he's been spotted by an HS on 80 in a contest?
Then a spot for HS, and well, after that 30 minutes of hell broke loose. I
didn't hear one other get through.
Oh also worked ZL6QH and HK1AR for new ones on 160. This new Titanex rocks.
And, the ZL6 is already confirmed on LOTW.
Score 5,000 higher than last year. 160 made up for punk 10.
GREAT FUN.
CYA in phone.
